Chapter 8: Movies I Watched But I Should Probably Read the Book

So I'm in the middle of watching Gone With the Wind, and I realized I've never gone through and actually read the book. It's long and wordy and romantic, thats like my favorite type of book. Heres a list of other books I should probably go read, but instead I watched the movie.

The Lord of the Rings series
Alice Through the Looking Glass
Anna and the King Of Siam
Battlefield Earth (actually I think I read half of it)
Choke
A Clockwork Orange
Dune (tried to read it, toooooooo longgggggg lol.)
Little Women
Starship Troopers
Trainspotting
The Little Princess

This is pretty small and I know theres a lot more, but at least they're movies I enjoyed a lot.

  8. I usually try to either read the book or watch the movie in these situations, depending on which is said to be better.

  13. These movies were really good and I can't fault anybody for liking them. But I'm a bit biased though because I like cinematic innovations.

  15. im not too much of a reader. like 5 or 8 a year but LOTR books are waaaaaay boring. Lots of stuff that was deleted from the movie i am Thankful like TOM BOMBADIL i HATE thate shrimp, i mean so he sees Frodo when he uses the one ring so what?Never again to be seen in the book, a waste of like 15pages if you ask me.

  16. Oh wow yeah you really should read those books. Clockwork Orange and LOTR are both better as books than movies in my opinion. Although I agree about Dune, just a wee bit too long and dry.

  17. I like your list! I remember when the LOTR series first came out, I wanted to know how it ended, but didn't want to read the books, so I had to wait a few years for the next movies to come out. . .
