A Game of Thrones Updates

Alright, I finished the first book today, and damn am I hooked. I've already watched all the HBO preview videos (I'm super excited, it looks real good) and now I've started in on A Clash of Kings.

There's also the site The Maester's Path that has a bunch of interactive stuff that I've been playing with.  Pretty sweet.

Margin Scribble: AGALLOCH.

Alright, the concert has come and past, and boy was it good.

Chicago was cold as shit, we waited about an hour in the car and then an hour out of the car, in the cold cold wind, and then finally were let into Reggie's Rock Club to purchase our merch. That's what takes the longest at the concert, Agalloch merch. I was able to take 2 videos before the batteries in my FlipHD died, which the boyfriend has edited and posted for me. Neither of the songs are complete due to battery and crowd issues (I'm freakin' short).

Did you all see Don Anderson sing to me? I didn't at the time, haha.

Video 2. 8 minutes of an 11 minute song? Sounds good.

Margin Scribble: Melanie Benjamin "Alice I Have Been"

A link I found the other day, I think I may go buy this and read it. I'll have to find the money, but for now the website is good enough.

Chapter 6: "I Am America (and So Can You!)" Stephen Colbert (the real review)

Alright, so after a week absence (in which I did work and then absolutely nothing) I decided to fix my last Saturday's post with something you can actually read and make sense of.

Stephen Colbert is awesome. This is the same sentiment I share with drunk-self, but it's true. The book is not like I'm reading, but more like I'm having a conversation with him. Or maybe more like I'm in a crowd listening. Either way, it makes for an interesting experience. The book is mostly humor, but there are bits of political info interspersed enough to make me feel smarter for reading it. It was a quick read, but the meat of the book isn't all there is, there are lots of little additions and bits of info, graphics, and it helps a little to extend the time you look at it.

All in all, I really enjoyed it, and after romances galore, I think it was a good refreshing book.

Margin Scribble: I swear a real post is forthcoming... But for now...

One of my favorite bands. Going to see them in Chicago on March 27th. Meet me there and I'll give you a dollar.

Margin Scribble: Too lazy for a real post today.

Have you ever seen in movies where people read in the bath? I've tried it. It's not actually that great. Your fingers feel dried out while the rest of you is sloshing around (not too hard though, don't want to wrinkle those pages.)Don't sit the book down too close to the edge, lest your book attracts droplets.

I may or may not have ruined a book this way. Seriously, don't do it.
